Taikosweb's Coffeehouse by VesteNotus Taikosweb's Coffeehouse by VesteNotus
::Taikosweb:: ([link]) posted the following lineart to tone: [link]

Taikosweb is looking to hire a toner for a prospective webcomic and this is the demo.
i did not do the lineart, which, if you know my art, you'd realized immediately

the toning, however, i did do... and it took me several hours...

here's to getting a job! *hopes*

***EDIT:***
I moved this from anime to cartoons and comics subcategory
it occured to me moments later that, try as i might to say otherwise, this is inexcusably a manga

Wow, nice toning job! I really like the girl's hair, and you made the people in the background more unnoticable, like a background. :XD: Okay, that didn't really make too much sense, sorry. Anyways, great job! :D

Well done toning. ^_^ You used any special tools for this? Or.. just made the tones yourself?

there're a bunch of websites out there that provide tones....
their easy enough to find - if you want, i'll look for my main site and get you the link

^^ Well.. I actually did my own toning brushes in Photoshop.. and tried it out. I find it does a pretty good job. The toning doesn't really cut clean like yours.. but I like how it looks... Though... I haven't actually submitted the comic I did the toning on... but once it's online, maybe I could show you...

Anyway, good luck with the job. ^_^

try using the magnetic lasso tool next time you use a darker tone over a lighter - it'll look like you cut and overlay the tones like in real manga!

^^ Yeah I could do that... actually I decided to make myself a new ID and I ended up toning it... this is what it looks like. [link] As you can see the toning isn't all clean and stuff.

Holy Toledo!!! You did a BEAUTIFUL job!!! it looks so... professional!!! I really like what you did to Trista, the pattern on the wall, and the way you glossed the people outside which really made it look like a glass with a street scene, and you really brought the scene alive!

Hope you don't mind, I am going to link this to a manga forum so expect to have a couple hundred hits :)

I would say... welcome to the team!
