Kyo the Cat Plushie by VesteNotus Kyo the Cat Plushie by VesteNotus
EDIT: I've been asked to show my appreciation for the "reference plushie". It's not like I used the same pattern, but *Beastbabe did want a similar looking thing: [link]
I didn't have a link of it before and now I do, so thank you those who sent me that image.
It should be said that I put in just as much work as I do any other plushie as I made my own pattern, cut my own fabric, and sewed it all together... I'm no scammer and no criminal. My mission statement is to provide cheap, affordable plushies on request to those who can't afford a $70 plush. I'm sorry to those I may have offended with my low-grade art, and I'm especially sorry to the original artist to whom I did not and could never give proper credit to!

It's Kyo as a kitty from Fruits Basket!
I've never watched the show myself, but it looks adorable!

:iconbeastbabe: *Beastbabe hired me to make this Kyo plush with a "retractable" hood! I really love his little toes and his cute kitten tail...
^___^;;

*Beastbabe, I know it's not exactly the same as the picture you showed me, but I hope you like him anyway!!

oh dear! You'll have to forgive me, I misread what you were commenting on! >___<

The kitty face is sewed on... Kyo's eyes and his mouth are ironed on with QuickFuse iron on fabric paper - it's the best!
>___< I must be sicker than I thought! I can't believe I misread what you were commenting on! Maybe I should lay down? hahaha!

I buy it at JoAnn's fabric stores...
It's nice because you can draw or print out images directly on the fabric side, cut it out, and iron it (waxy side down) onto any fabric surface. It adhears nicely and looks top quality!

I went looking for other plushies to compare, and the official plush are considerably different from Hatsuko's, which leads me to believe you must have ripped her off. How awful!!! :`( I really think you owe her an apology!

To answer you questions, *Beastbabe just sent me a picture (no links) of what she wanted.
If I could credit it, I would.
I've changed it, so please don't get in a tiff.

I'm not in a tiff, but I think it's fair to say that most artist, plush or otherwise, are deeply annoyed by art theft. Seeing so many plushies in your gallery based on BabyLondonStar's pattern, and then to see an obvious copy of Hatsukoi's plush with no mention of either artist is insulting to them, and to the plush community at large. I simply felt that she was owed an apology for not being properly credited in the first place. Perhaps you didn't know who made the plushie in the first place, but you can't blame us for feeling annoyed at the copy of a beloved artist's work.

I should think that giving credit would have been done in the item description in the first place:(

"it's only a fan piece".....

ms. hatsukoi's original plush was "only a fan piece" as well - so this is blatant concept thieft. it doesnt matter if it VesteNotus didnt know, it's an issue of morals. this plush should not have been created in this format because it is basically, in all reality, a bootleg of an already existing plush. not only was it plagiarised, it was SOLD.
i am in complete agreement with britewingz, hatsukoi deserves an apology and credit given.

It's been properly referenced as something I looked onto. I didn't have a link before and now I do. Problem solved.

People sell bootleg copies all the time. As I still made the pattern, sewed the plush, AND made the face, I feel as if I'm within my rights to sell this plushie as it is still my own creation.

i'm not denying that you made the pattern and etc - i'm just saying that it is still indeed a concept theift.
as well, just because people sell and make bootleg plushies doesnt't make it right or legal.

you have your right to make this plush, all i was trying to make sure that the original artist was credited somewhere.
i was not calling you a crook, criminal and et cetera; i just dont believe that already existing plush should be remade.

yeah, i don't believe an already existing plush should be remade either.
I was just making what my customer told me to. ah, you know already! haha, now we're just taking turns beating this deceased horse!
>___<

not to say that I don't take this seriously. I don't know why my customer didn't just buy the plushie from the original sellor. She already ordered something from me, so I guess she thought this would be (and prolly is) more conveniant. *shrugs*

i understand that you were just doing an order and it's alright, just simple credit to the original artist was needed.
the original plush has been sold for almost 3 years now and that's probably why they turned to you to make a replica, for cheaper ;P

i hold no grudge, i'm just glad that there's proper credit given.

Hurray! I'm glad you like him! I was gonna send you a note to link you up to him, but I see you've beaten me to it!
I had this one question on my mind though:
do you want me to send your order ahead of your sister's, or should I send them all together (which would entail more waiting)?

I know it's a weird question, but I figured I'd ask. Think it over and let me know!
(I'm so excited to send your plushies out to you!!)
