My grandmother (I call her "Nanny") was diagnosed with ovarian cancer two years ago. She has received chemo, she has underwent surgeries. She has received radiology. She continues to smile, talk with me at length about wigs (I collect them, and now she does too), and be supportive - just as a grandmother should.

At around the same time as her initial diagnosis, I started making plushies for people. She kept telling me how proud she was of me that I was the first in my family to be able to make at least a little money doing something I love. She is my biggest fan and I love her dearly.

So I have created a bear for her. It is not my best work, oh no. But it is something made, from the heart, for a woman who inspires me and a woman who holds my family together. Nanny, this bear is for you.

That's so sweet.
I've started making ribbons and handing them out at school for my mother, since she has Ovarian Cancer. I have one hanging in my locker and one on my wall. I make drawings for her, rather than make plushies.

But I think your bear is cute. It's a cute thought. I wish I could do that for my momma.

:cry:... What you said in the comments reminds me of the way I feel about my great grandmother who I call Granny. I definitely know how you feel about your Nanny. Anyway, this bear is so cute and the meaning behind him makes him just so special :aww: ! *adds to faves :+favlove: *

Wow, this is so cute! The fur color is really pretty. It's such a classic design, too. The green bow really helps break up the colors. That was nice of you!

some grandma's could face down the hulk, galactus and even the reaper himself. i'm pullin' for her.
